Hi Le!
We have these at our house and Bill puts some plant food on them so I'll ask him what it is so he can pass that along to you so this one can be a success! I love that you are not counting how many you have killed!!

Le,

I had one that bloomed every other year for a couple of years, then never bloomed again but had beautiful green foilage...a friend who has a zillion different hygrageas told me it wasn't getting enough sun, so I moved it, still no blooms and it didn't come back this Spring. So I just planted a new one called Endless Summer, which my friend claims are hardy and easy to grow and bloom throughout the summer...we shall see! The only thing I know about them is that they love acid...I believe the more acid you give them, the bluer they become. I also know you aren't supposed to prune new wood (the stems) as this is what gives you blooms. Best of luck, I will keep you posted on my progress!

These are my absolute favorite too! I must say, I've gotten lucky with mine -- I've had it for 6 years now (my Mom gave it to me as a housewarming gift). I know they like shade. Good luck!

Defintely the NE corner of your house--saw some gorgeous ones in the country this weekend (NE corner). Also read that if you feed them too much acid you'll end up w/foilage and no blooms. Thanks for the advice on the vinegar--my pink hydrangea is darkening--hopefully to the gorgeous blue that I love!
