I think we need to get back to the basics of life (to quote a 4Him song!). I think about the lives of those during WWII and the Great Depression and wonder why we aren't going back to simpler times ourselves. The latest toy and gadgets aren't what make us "free". It is spending time with family and friends and developing our character that give us the ability to be truly free.
We are doing our best to raise our son to grow up to be a man of God. Maybe he won't change America, but if he changes a life or two, I think that would be pretty rewarding!
I agree with the two other post. Making sure our children become children of God and spread His love to others is all we can do. Maybe they will make a difference in someone's life. I like the verse Le quoted, too. We can't have fear of the future. We just have to know that God is with us and He have a plan for us.
This is a great question, Le. I think of the scripture, "Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you FREE". (John 8:32)If our children know the truth of God, they will know TRUE, ETERNAL freedom. They will know that the Lord has a plan and a purpose and will act according to His will.
